Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has finally addressed ongoing taunts and curses directed at her and her family by fellow actress Lizzy Anjorin. The drama, which has dragged on for months, recently intensified with Anjorin allegedly hurling death wishes at Ojo’s grandson, Rakeem Mkambala.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Iyabo Ojo revealed why she has chosen silence instead of trading words with her colleague. According to her, ignoring the negativity is a deliberate act of strength and faith.
“Honestly, I haven’t laughed this hard in a while. These videos cracked me up real good,” she wrote, before adding in a more serious tone:
“I’ve seen all your messages, DMs, and voice notes about my quiet approach to the defamatory statements, insults, and curses Lizzy Anjorin has been directing at my family especially my grandson. Many times I struggle to hold my peace, but I have to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse.”
Iyabo Ojo assured fans that her silence does not mean inaction, as her legal team is closely monitoring the situation. She emphasized that timing is everything and wisdom requires patience.
“Over the past few months, I’ve focused on family welcoming my grandson, supporting my daughter through her motherhood journey, and standing strong both physically and spiritually. Meanwhile, my legal team is taking note and preparing for the right moment,” she explained.
The actress further hinted that once she returns to Lagos, she will be ready to confront the issues head-on. For now, she believes silence remains the best weapon.
“Silence can be powerful. While it’s not always easy for me, I know it’s necessary sometimes. I love and appreciate you all for your genuine concerns. God bless,” she added.
