Court Rules Nnamdi Kanu Must Face Trial, Rejects “No Case Submission”-OXYGIST

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has a case to answer in his ongoing terrorism trial.

Justice James Omotosho, who presided over the matter, dismissed Kanu’s “no case submission,” which sought to have the charges against him struck out. The judge held that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence linking Kanu to the charges, and therefore, he must enter his defense.

In addition, the court rejected Kanu’s request to be transferred from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) to the National Hospital, Abuja, for medical examination. His legal team had argued that his health was deteriorating, but the judge ruled that he should remain in DSS custody.
