Cardi B has finally addressed one of the biggest rumors that has trailed her career the claim that she was strategically placed in the rap game to dethrone Nicki Minaj.
Speaking on the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, the Grammy-winning rapper made it clear that her rise to fame was no conspiracy but the result of her talent, hard work, and destiny.
“I was destined for this. Nobody signed me just to take down another female rapper,” Cardi said, firmly dismissing the allegations.
Though she never mentioned Nicki by name, her comments directly tackled the long-standing speculation about an “industry plot” to pit the two women against each other.
The rumor gained momentum after a leaked clip of Kanye West (Ye) went viral, where he alleged that Cardi was “an Illuminati plant” created to replace Nicki Minaj. Since then, conspiracy theories about their rivalry have flooded social media, fueling fan debates about the two rap queens.
Cardi B, however, downplayed the idea of hidden agendas in hip-hop beefs. “Sometimes, people just don’t vibe with each other and that’s okay,” she explained, stressing that not every conflict is about sabotage.
Her tense relationship with Nicki Minaj has been public for years, most famously erupting in 2018 during New York Fashion Week, where a heated argument turned physical after Cardi threw a shoe at Nicki.
